JAMIE CHADWICK TO RACE BRITISH GT WITH BEECHDEAN ASTON MARTIN RACING
Posted on Mar 4th, 2015
I thought that I would start this year with a change to my PR and so I am going to be blogging about my racing, rather than issuing lots of press releases. Hopefully this will give everyone a more direct insight into my racing life as the season goes on. Please give me feedback any time!
The year has begun in the best possible way with confirmation of my deal to compete in the British GT Championship in an Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT4 car with Beechdean Aston Martin Racing.
I have been working on this since I tested the car at Donington in November, and my Dad and I subsequently met my new management team at Fuel Talent, so it now it feels like a dream come true. The Aston Martin is a really beautiful car and it’s super nice to drive too – very smooth and even quite comfortable, which suits my driving style. It’s the car and team combination which won last year’s GT4 Championship title so there is definitely an expectation to do well.
Now we start to prepare ourselves for the season, which starts at Oulton Park in Cheshire on the Easter weekend in early April. We have five test days before then, which started with Snetterton in Norfolk last Thursday. That test went very well, it was great to learn more about the car and to get to know the team better. Then next week we head off to Monteblanco in Spain for the official two day Aston Martin Racing test – we’ll be out with all the Works teams and drivers so as well as looking to work with my team, I will be hoping to make the right impression on them too.
Right now though, I am just enjoying the feeling of being one of the luckiest people on the grid – a big thanks to Mum & Dad for helping to make this happen and also to everyone at Beechdean, especially Jonny and Andrew, for their faith in me.
