– PENULTIMATE WEEKEND IN THE BRITISH GT SERIES BEFORE DONINGTON FINALE
– RETURN TO THE SCENE OF HER 2015 TITLE WIN
– TEAMING UP WITH PAUL HOLLYWOOD IN THE BEACHDEAN AMR V8 VANTAGE
Rounds 6 & 7 of the British GT Championship take place this weekend at Snetterton, prior to the final round at Donnington next month, where we’ll see the 2016 Championship reach its conclusion.
Having sat out the initial rounds of this season, due to A-level commitments, Jamie is looking forward to gaining valuable seat time as she gets her racing programme back on track in preparation for a key year in 2017.
Sunday’s two 1 hour races will be run on one of the country’s longest circuit layouts – the Snetteron 300. The MSV owned track, nestled in the Norfolk countryside, has a 2.99 mile lap, comprising 13 challenging corners. Originally an RAF airfield, it wasn’t until 1953 that it was first used for racing, but has undergone considerable investment in recent years to make it one of the most challenging and entertaining circuits for both drivers and spectators.
Following a frustrating first pairing at Spa, Jamie and teammate Paul Hollywood hope to mark their return to UK soil with a strong showing and, with her exam commitments now behind her, 2015 British GT4 Champion and BRDC Rising Star, Jamie, can focus primarily on her racing.
Speaking just prior to the Snetterton weekend, Jamie commented:
“Spa was a bit disappointing, but my prime motivation is to now resume achieving good performances on track. I’m really looking forward to getting back in the Beechdean AMR V8 Vantage and back up to speed, and the two short races at Snetterton should hopefully work well for Paul and I.”
